Lieutenant Charles Rollo Cooch

Charles Rollo Cooch, son of Major CEH Cooch, of The Border Regiment, was born in Leamington, 3rd October, 1894. Entering [Victoria College] in 1904 he remained for four years and then went on to the Imperial Service College, Windsor, where he took prizes for French and other subjects, and distinguished himself in Cricket, Rugby, Hockey and long distance running.

He passed into Sandhurst in January 1914, and passing out in September was gazetted to the 2nd Battalion, The Border Regiment on 1st October, 1914. He went out to the front almost at once and was killed in action near Armentieres, 17th December, 1914.
