School and Educational Tours

To understand history gives us greater perspective on the present.

Jersey has a fantastic history but many school children who live here have less than a complete knowledge as to why our beautiful little island is as it is. We owe it to the Island’s younger generation to give them the knowledge of the connection between what they see around them on a daily basis and history.

History Alive! is able to organise school trips to places around the Island, some which may be familiar and some will be less familiar, but always in a way that students will remember, and in turn will become teachers in their own right by passing on that their newly acquired knowledge.

Educational tours are also available to visiting schools and youth groups.

I am happy to assist in suggesting relevant locations for a school trip which fit into a curriculum subject or other project. I am also happy to make presentations at school itself independently or in conjunction with a school trip. I can provide my own fully licensed public service vehicle for up to 16 persons.

Fully insured and first aid trained. Risk assessment schedules available on request.

Previous School trip reviews

“The boys really enjoyed the day and got a great deal out of it, so thank you. Also thank you for your help and the tip off about the St Saviours church graveyard- I have already followed it up! Any other hot tips on history that we could incorporate into our curriculum would be great.”

History Department, Victoria College

“Thanks so much for coming in this afternoon. The children really enjoyed their session with you and went home keen to tell their parents what they had learnt! The artefacts were amazing and you pitched it at just the right level.”

St Mary’s Primary School

“Marc was a fantastic tour guide who pitched had a wealth of knowledge and was able to pitch to the children’s age group perfectly (Key stage 2). The children loved the visits to the bunkers and the stories Marc told us really made it special. I would recommend to other schools.”

St Luke’s Primary School

We offset our carbon footprint for each tour and additionally match it with a donation towards seagrass conservation
