Cruise Ship Private Tours

Are you visiting Jersey on a cruise ship and want to have a private tour of the Island which suits your interests rather than the general 40-seater coach tour usually offered?

When you arrive by cruise ship, book an Accredited Badged Member of the Guild of Battlefield Guides, Marc Yates, to take you on your own private tour of Jersey.

We know that your time visiting from the cruise ship may be short, so let us help you devise a realistic tour to see the things that interest you and hopefully leave some time over for some shopping, a nice meal or perhaps just give you a little time for solo exploring or just relaxing. Taking the 40-seater coach option won’t suit everyone as those tours go at the speed of the slowest and there isn’t much choice as to where you go.

Heritage, military history and archaeology tours are our speciality, and if you want some ideas to create your own itinerary, take a look at the various tour details on the rest of this website. Also take advantage to some of the historic sites for which we hold the keys and won’t be on the standard coach tours. And don’t worry, you will still see all the best scenic views of the Island on our tours.

The cost of the tour will depend on the itinerary and the duration of the tour. To secure a booking, please go online and book and pay the minimum charge, as well as specifying your wish list requests. This charge should cover a half day tour and some admission fees, but again this will depend on the numbers in your group and the itinerary. Once we have finalised those things either by email or by telephone, there may be a balancing charge which will need to be paid 2 weeks before the tour.

Remember that as a private tour, you control the timings and we will work around the times that you arrive from the cruise ship launch.

We offset our carbon footprint for each tour and additionally match it with a donation towards seagrass conservation

Making my way along the small roads which crisscross the fields which were the battlefield, it is only too apparent that this place is wet! Even with working …

Nazi Germany occupies part of the British Isles – (The German Occupation of the Channel Islands Part 2)

The British government hoped that as open towns, the islands would be spared a German attack which would be costly in civilian lives as well as property damage. Indeed they even naively considered that the Germans would not even bother occupying the undefended islands, which might be able to sit out the war in isolation. For the Germans, victoriously sitting in Normandy …
